The AstraZeneca Business Resilience Framework comprises 4 key disciplines (Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management, IT Disaster recovery and cyber security, and Emergency site response).
The role holder will oversee and support functional compliance in line with AstraZeneca standards on Business Continuity and Crisis Management, ensuring that templates, training and exercising are in place to support alignment activity and promote operational readiness. The role holder will be expected to actively engage in crisis response activity as and when circumstances require. Develop and maintain an active and ongoing general understanding of Enterprise Risk through collaborative working with the wider team. To achieve this, the role holder will be encouraged to use knowledge and experience to proactively network, support and guide key internal partners.
Maintain Global Process resources for Business Continuity and Crisis Management
- Support the GPO and Group Director of Business Continuity & Crisis Management to develop and review Global Standards and supporting policy documents for Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
- Ensure that all necessary resources and templates to support Business Continuity and Crisis Management are in place and up to date, as outlined in the Global Standards and supporting policy documents for Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
Promotion of Business Continuity and Crisis Management
- Monitor and maintain a regular flow of content and engagement on the Business Continuity Workplace Group.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Business Continuity and Crisis Management practitioners in each SET Area/Enabling Function.
Training and Exercising
- Support the design, delivery and review of enterprise-wide Business Continuity and Crisis Management training.
- Support the design, delivery and reporting of reverse stress-testing and scenario modelling in support of any future Operational Resilience requirement.
Monitoring, Testing and Assurance
- Support the design and on-going development of second-line assurance monitoring of Business Continuity and Crisis Management activity across the enterprise.
- Support the design and delivery of Operational Resilience alignment, in accordance with any future regulatory requirements. This is to include the implementation of reverse stress-testing/scenario modelling for designated enterprise risks.
Crisis Response
- Support the leadership and coordination of a crisis response, as directed by the GPO Group Director Business Continuity and Crisis Management.
- Deputise for the GPO Group Director Business Continuity and/or Head of Enterprise Risk and Business Resilience as necessary during a crisis response.
To be considered for this position, candidates would have prior experience of working within Business Continuity Management and Crisis Management in a large, complex organisations. Proven incident response leadership experience up to tactical (multi-agency Silver equivalent) level. Prior experience of planning, designing and running Business Continuity and Crisis Management training is also crucial.
